It is important that you try to find a date of publication rather than use (no date) in your reference.

The currency of the information is a very important criterion for deciding whether a source is valid and whether you should use it in your academic work. (See our 'Evaluating sources' page).

However, you can check for a date at the top or bottom of the page, the logos, or in the URL in the address bar at the top of your screen. You may find it helpful to right-click on the mouse and select 'Properties': this will often display the date the web page was last updated/modified.

If you have tried these options and cannot find a date, you will need to put (no date) in your reference. Do check how to display this for your referencing style.

Harvard in-text citation example:

...(New Media Republic, no date).

or

New Media Republic (no date)....

Harvard reference list example:

New Media Republic (no date) Title. Available at: URL (Accessed: 13 December 2023).
