For support with academic writing, we recommend the Writers in Residence (term time only) and the Centre for Academic English and Skills. During the summer break, the Centre for Academic English does not post online appointment slots, but support can be arranged by emailing english@worc.ac.uk.

There are also a number of online resources that may help. The university's Study Skills portal includes a section on writing your assignments.

The Royal Literary Fund's resource page includes essay and dissertation guides, and the Alex Essay Writing Tool, a video-based guide that can also be accessed via an app.

We also recommend the University of Manchester's Academic Phrasebank, which offers advice on criticality, describing trends, quantities and causality, and how to introduce and position your work in context.

Finally, if you need help with punctuation, this guide from the University of Sussex is particularly recommended.

If your query relates to referencing, you can of course contact your academic liaison librarians, askalibrarian, or connect to live chat.
