You can access the Cite Them Right tutorial via this link: https://www-citethemrightonline-com.apollo.worc.ac.uk/tutorial. It is essential you go via this link- don’t Google Cite Them Right and try and get in that way.
Depending on what you’ve logged into previously and which network you are on you may be asked for your UW username/ password/ multifactor authentication.
It should say ‘University of Worcester’ along the top once you are one the Cite Them Right site. The first time you use the tutorial, you'll need to set up a personal account. To do this:
- Click on Launch tutorial.
- Select your referencing style.
- Scroll down and click Start assessment.
- Click log in or register here. Don't put your email or password in the boxes. Instead, scroll down the screen a little and click Don't have a personal account yet? Sign up now
- Create an account using your UW or personal email address.
- You will be sent a verification email. Click on the link within the email to verify your account. Note: you may need to check your junk/ spam folder for the verification email.
- You should now be able to complete the tutorial and download your certificate.

If you are unable to log in because your details are not recognised: We know there is an error and we are working with Bloomsbury to fix it (October 2025). If you cannot sign in, try a password reset, even if you know your password is entered correctly. On the log in screen which you see after clicking 'start assessment' - click the 'forgot password' link, enter your email address and submit. Use the temporary password in the email sent by Bloomsbury to sign in. To reset your password, you can go to Cite Them Right, and click the sign in link in the top right corner of the screen to sign in using the temporary password. Then click My Profile, click edit profile, and reset the password to something more memorable.
