Is the assignment you are submitting all your own work?

Good academic work combines originality with criticality and analysis of previous research. You can reference previous research, but the arguments, criticism and analysis should be your own.

Have you used artificial intelligence (AI)?

If you have used any artificial intelligence generated content, have you checked your module guides and assignment brief to see whether this is permitted? If you use AI when it is not permitted this may be academic misconduct. Academic misconduct, including plagiarism, can result in serious penalties. If you are not sure whether you can use AI, check with your module leader. Any use of AI must be acknowledged

Have you referenced any information you have used from another source?

Academic assignments are usually based on previously published evidence, research and debate. You can find sources on your resource lists, Library Search, and subject guide. See our referencing checklist to make sure you have fully acknowledged everything.

Have you read and understood all the sources you are citing in your assignment, and that are in your reference list?

The sources you are citing must be genuine and contain the information you attribute to them.
